Wanaka cookbook makes the final cut in prestigious international awards

Random House’s magnificent Wanaka: Earth to Heaven at Whare Kea cookbook, published in September 2011, has made the final cut in the internationally prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, vying with 11 others for the hotly contested ‘Best Cookbook of the Year’ category.

The announcement will be made at a glittering awards ceremony to be held at Theatre Folies Bergère in Paris 6 March, 2012.

'Having won in 2011 with Me'a Kai it's great to be in the company of remarkable international cookbooks in this coveted book category again,' says Random House New Zealand publishing director Nicola Legat.

'I believe Wanaka has been recognised by the judges for what it is: a magnificent showcase of the food and wine of a truly exciting food region,' she says.
