The Moon and Farmer McPhee named an IBBY Honour Book

Congratulations to David Elliott,  whose work on The Moon & Farmer McPhee has been selected as the New Zealand 2012 IBBY Honour Book for Illustration.

An international award for children’s books, the IBBY Honour Book list is promoted by IBBY biennially to bring to international attention outstanding books from each of the 70-odd member countries, of which New Zealand is one.

The Moon and Farmer McPhee by Margaret Mahy and David Elliot will be part of major presentation at the IBBY World Congress in London next August and also a travelling exhibition of the books. This honour comes hot on the heels of the book’s wining the Book of the Year Award in the 2011 New Zealand Post Childrens and Young Adult Book Awards..
