Come and Meet Theresa Gattung at an Instore Signing
Wellington: Thursday 11 March, 12.30pm – 1.30pm Venue: Whitcoulls Courtnenay Place, 80 Courtenay Place Format: Book Signing
Theresa Gattung is the proverbial ‘bird on a wire’. She reached the top of the corporate ladder before she hit 40 – fulfilling a long-held ambition – becoming CEO of Telecom at just 37 via the unorthodox route of marketing. Her appointment astounded the nation and turned the telecommunications monolith that New Zealanders loved to hate, upside down. Quite an audacious high wire act for such a young woman and one ultimately riven with extraordinary highs and lows, both professional and personal.
Bird on a Wire tells it like it is; it’s a no-holds-barred account of Theresa’s rise and rise to business power, the Telecom years and the motivating forces that got her there: drive, ambition and determination, all of which she had in spades.
Bird on a Wire is a candid and inspirational story that will fascinate and challenge women and business people in particular. It is also the story of how Theresa rebuilt her life post-Telecom with a clear and different focus, aligning her passion for New Zealand products, sustainability and clothes(!) and, in particular, more recently, through her chairmanship of Wool Partners International, whose mission is to get better returns for what used to be our largest export industry, wool. She is a committed New Zealand business leader determined to find a way to pay our way in the world again.
Gattung is Wellington based, so come and have a chat with her in person.
